Stephanie Key ’91 and SOLI Chamber Ensemble Announce 2026 Performances

Published on January 30, 2026

Clarinetist and Artistic Director Stephanie Key ’91 will lead the SOLI Chamber Ensemble in two performances during the 2026 season at Trinity University’s Ruth Taylor Recital Hall in San Antonio, continuing the ensemble’s long-standing commitment to contemporary chamber music.

Founded in 1994, SOLI has become a nationally recognized advocate for new music, commissioning and premiering more than 100 works by living composers and earning support from organizations including the National Endowment for the Arts, Chamber Music America, and ASCAP. Based in San Antonio, the ensemble performs widely and collaborates with regional arts organizations while maintaining a strong educational presence as Ensemble-in-Residence at Trinity University.

On January 20, SOLI presented Songs of the Heart, featuring world premieres by Anne Guzzo and Nicolás Lell Benavides, alongside works by Michael Ippolito and Peter Lieberson. The season continues on May 5, with Echoes of Home, a program exploring American musical identity through works by Ethan Wickman, Reena Esmail, Shulamit Ran, Jessie Montgomery, Aaron Copland, and John Williams, among others.

Under Key’s leadership, SOLI continues to expand the reach of contemporary music through innovative programming, interdisciplinary collaboration, and its ongoing 30x30x30 Project, which supports early-career composers nationwide.

 We applaud your successes, Stephanie!
