
Alix Raspé Gray ’17 MM Named to New Faculty Roles at Exeter and Longy
Award-winning harpist and educator Alix Raspé Gray ’17 MM continues to expand her impact in music education with newly announced faculty appointments at Phillips Exeter Academy and the Longy School of Music of Bard College.
These roles mark the latest additions to a dynamic teaching portfolio that already includes positions at Dartmouth College and Phillips Academy Andover. Across these institutions, Raspé Gray has built a reputation for thoughtful mentorship and a teaching style that balances technical precision with artistic exploration.
In her new positions, she will engage with students at multiple stages of development, from young musicians at the secondary level to advanced conservatory performers. Her approach prioritizes individualized instruction, encouraging students to refine their technique while developing a distinct musical identity. She also brings an interdisciplinary perspective to her teaching, incorporating elements of wellness and career development to help students navigate the demands of modern musical life.
In addition to her academic work, she leads the Dorset Harp Colony, a specialized summer program focused on intensive study and mentorship for harpists. She also serves as president of the American Harp Society Boston Chapter, where she plays an active role in promoting harp education and fostering community engagement.
