Boston Summer Opera Awarded Community Fund for Wellesley Grant

Boston Summer Opera, where Hannah Shanefield '20 MM serves as Executive Director, has been awarded a grant from the Community Fund for Wellesley, a Fund of the Community Foundation for MetroWest, to support its upcoming production of Rossini's The Barber of Seville and expand community-centered opera programming in Wellesley! Performances are on Saturday, August 22 at 7:30 PM at Wellesley Hills Congregational Church and Sunday, August 23 at 3 PM at the Boston Synagogue.

Founded in 2024 with the help of NEC's EM Alumni Award, Boston Summer Opera is a summertime operatic hub for musicians and audiences alike, committed to producing high-quality performances that uplift local emerging artists while making opera accessible, engaging, and community-centered.
