Teresa Tucci '23 MM Joins Edmonton Opera and Opera on the Avalon Emerging Artist Programs for 2026–2027

Soprano Teresa Tucci '23 MM has been selected for the 2026–2027 Emerging Artist Programs at both Edmonton Opera in Alberta and Opera on the Avalon in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Through the Emerging Artists Programs of the Edmonton Opera, she will take part in performances, residencies, and outreach work across Edmonton and the Yukon, including the Dawson City Summer Residency, Edmonton Opera Residency, and Yukon Arts Centre Outreach Tours, as well as perform the role of Erste Dame and cover Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.

With the Emerging Artists Program at Opera on the Avalon, she will receive unique comprehensive professional development and mentorship including financial support, engagement in professional development sessions, mentorship opportunities. Also as part of Opera on the Avalon’s program, Teresa will participate in a new operatic commission developed in collaboration with Irish National Opera. She will also cover the role of Violetta in the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra’s production of Verdi’s La traviata, with an additional role cover to be announced.

Aside from her Masters from NEC, Teresa also holds an Artist Diploma in Opera from the University of Toronto and an Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance from Sheridan College.
