Harpist Li Shan Tan ’26 DMA Featured in Architectural Digest Video with NBA Star Jaylen Brown

Harpist Li Shan Tan ’26 DMA was featured in a recent Architectural Digest video touring the Boston penthouse of former Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown. During the episode of AD’s Open Door, Brown showcases an 18th-century harp reimagined with 24-karat gold gilding, describing it as one of his favorite and most valuable pieces in the home. As Brown introduces the instrument, Tan performs on the harp in the background. Brown refers to Tan as his “amazing therapist,” highlighting the importance of music in his home.

Tan, a Singaporean-born harpist based in Boston, holds a DMA from NEC, as well as a master’s degree from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Besides serving as the personal harpist of Brown, she is also the principal harp of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and performs with the Boston Symphony Orchestra regularly.

Congratulations on the awesome feature, Li Shan!
