Evren Ozel ’21, ’23 MM Wins an Avery Fisher Career Grant

Congratulations to Evren Ozel ’21, ’23 MM for winning a 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant! These Grants of $25,000 give professional assistance and recognition to emerging instrumental artists who have great potential for major careers in classical music.

A virtuosic pianist, the Avery Fisher Career Grant is one of numerous honors and awards Evren has received. He has performed with major orchestras throughout the country — The Cleveland Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, and Boston Pops, to name a few — and established himself as an extraordinary talent with a long career ahead of him. Here at NEC, Evren has studied under Wha Kyung Byun since 2014, from the Prep school through graduate study.
