
Annie Jacobs-Perkins ’20 MM, ’21 GD Wins 2023 Pierre Fournier Award

Congratulations to cellist Annie Jacobs-Perkins ’20 MM, ’21 GD, who was named the winner of the 2023 Pierre Fournier Award on May 4th. She received the award after performing two movements from Elliot Carter's Sonata for Cello and Piano and Fauré Cello Sonata No. 1 with pianist Dina Ivanova.
For her win, Jacobs-Perkins will receive a professionally filmed Wigmore Hall recital, a CD recording on the Champs Hill label and recitals with Oxford May Music, Manchester Mid-day Concerts Society, and a concerto appearance with the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Jacobs-Perkins currently studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Troels Svane. She held the Laurence Lesser Presidential Scholarship at NEC, where she completed her master’s degree and graduate diploma with Lesser. She received her bachelor of music from USC’s Thornton School of Music with Ralph Kirshbaum.
