Marta Aznavoorian '96 MM plays in the 71st Annual Armenian Night at Pops

On June 5, NEC alumna and pianist Marta Aznavoorian '96 MM played with the Boston Pops in the 71st Annual Armenian Night at Pops. This concert was presented by the Friends of Armenian Culture Society. A multi-GRAMMY nominated artist, Marta has performed internationally at venues such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Highland Park Strings, San Diego Symphony, and the New World Symphony. She is also a founding member of the Lincoln Trio. The trio tours regularly throughout the world and was recently nominated for a GRAMMY for their album Trios from Our Homelands under the Cedille Records label.

Marta is a dedicated educator, and has taught at Universities throughout the United States and abroad. She is on the faculty and recently was appointed Artist in Residence at the Music Institute of Chicago, and is a member of the Piano and Chamber Music faculty at DePaul University School of Music. Marta received her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance in 1996.
