Song-Hyeon Kim ’24, ’26 MM Named Winner of NEC’s 2024–2025 Piano Concerto Competition

Congratulations to Song-Hyeon Kim ’24, ’26 MM on winning NEC's highly competitive 2024–2025 Piano Concerto Competition. This accomplishment places Song-Hyeon among the most outstanding young pianists at the conservatory and recognizes his technical expertise and artistic sensitivity.

As the winner, Song-Hyeon will have the honor of performing Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54 with the NEC Philharmonia, under the direction of Hugh Wolff. This highly anticipated performance will take place on November 6 in the historic Jordan Hall, providing an opportunity to witness his interpretation of Schumann’s richly expressive work. Song-Hyeon received his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance in 2024 and is continuing his studies to receive his Master of Music in 2026. His success reflects NEC’s commitment to fostering exceptional musicianship and artistry within its community.
