Sir Frank London ’80 Releases Top Jazz Album of 2024

GRAMMY-winning trumpeter and composer Sir Frank London ‘80, knighted for his contributions to multicultural music in Hungary, has released four new recordings. Of these recordings, Spirit Stronger Than Blood by Frank's group The Elders, has been named one of The New York Times’ Top Ten Jazz Releases of the Year.

A founding member of The Klezmatics and Hasidic New Wave, Frank has performed on over 100 albums and collaborated with a wide range of artists, including John Zorn, David Byrne, and LL Cool J. His own works, like Brotherhood of Brass and Nigunim, fuse Jewish traditions with contemporary sounds, showcasing his unique voice in global music.

Beyond recordings, Frank has composed for film, theater, and dance, including John Sayles’ The Brother from Another Planet and David Byrne’s The Knee Plays. His influence spans festivals, teaching, and collaborations worldwide.
