
Inmo Yang ’18, ’19 AD to Make Solo Debut with the New York Philharmonic
Inmo Yang ’18, ’19 AD will take the stage as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, during their Lunar New Year Gala at David Geffen Hall. This highly anticipated debut marks another milestone in Inmo’s rapidly ascending career, showcasing his remarkable artistry during a program celebrating the Year of the Snake.
Inmo’s trajectory has placed him among the most sought-after violinists of his generation. Known for his exquisite tone and interpretive depth, he has already graced prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, and performed with orchestras including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestre National de France. Highlights of his 2024–25 season include collaborations with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Tampere Philharmonia, and the BBC Philharmonic, alongside tours with the Berliner Barock Solisten and Seoul Philharmonic.
Inmo’s achievements include first prize at the 2015 International Violin Competition "Premio Paganini"—the first awarded in nine years—and the 2022 Jean Sibelius Violin Competition. He records exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon, with acclaimed albums such as The Genetics of Strings and 24 Caprices by N. Paganini.
His artistry was shaped under the tutelage of Miriam Fried at NEC, where he earned both his Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma. Inmo was also one of few students to play the 1714 Joachim-Ma Stradivarius, the legendary violin crafted by Antonio Stradivari. For more information on the legacy of this instrument, visit here.
