
Alumni Shine in Professional Orchestras
Alumni continue to make their mark on the world of professional music, achieving notable positions in leading orchestras and ensembles.
Jensen Bocco ’20 has been named Second Bassoon with the San Francisco Ballet, earning a coveted spot in one of the nation’s premier ballet orchestras. Bocco’s appointment reflects both his exceptional musicianship and the rigorous training he received during his time at the school.
Elmer Churampi ’18 recently won the position of Principal Trumpet with the Atlanta Symphony, a prestigious role that showcases his leadership and artistry within the brass section. Previously Elmur has held the 4th Trumpet position with the Dallas Symphony. His achievement highlights the school’s ongoing legacy of producing highly skilled orchestral players.
Meanwhile, Travis Peterson ’08 GD was successfully awarded a trial for Associate Principal Trumpet with the New York Philharmonic, one of the most respected orchestras in the world. Peterson is currently completing his tenure as Acting Associate Principal Trumpet with the Philadelphia Orchestra. As well as currently serving as the Principal Trumpet of the Utah Symphony. This milestone represents a significant step in Peterson’s distinguished career and underscores the school’s long-standing influence in professional music circles.
