Jeremías Sergiani-Velázquez '14 Joins the Faculty at the Manhattan School of Music

The Manhattan School of Music (MSM) has officially appointed violinist Jeremías Sergiani-Velázquez '14 to its string faculty. Sergiani-Velázquez currently serves as Principal Second Violin of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, bringing extensive orchestral, chamber, and solo experience back to the institution where he once studied.

Born in Córdoba, Argentina, Sergiani-Velázquez began playing the violin at age three. He pursued his Bachelor of Music at NEC studying under Miriam Fried, followed by a Master of Music from The Juilliard School and a Professional Studies Certificate from the Manhattan School of Music.

Throughout his career, he has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, toured with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and earned a Latin GRAMMY® Award with the Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet. At MSM, he will now guide and mentor the next generation of conservatory violinists.
