
Dr. Andrew Stetson ‘07 Named to Yamaha’s 40 Under 40 Music Educators List
Dr. Andrew Stetson ‘07, Director of Texas Tech University’s School of Music, has been named to Yamaha’s Fifth Annual 40 Under 40 Music Educators List, recognizing his outstanding contributions to music education and leadership.
An accomplished trumpeter, Stetson is the Principal Trumpet of the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra and has performed with renowned ensembles, including the Alabama Symphony, Boston Philharmonic, and Houston Symphony. He is also an active soloist and chamber musician, appearing with the Boston Chamber Music Society and Texas Tech Faculty Brass Quintet.
As an educator, Stetson fosters a collaborative, team-oriented environment, integrating musicianship with academic coursework and entrepreneurial skills. His mentorship has led students to national competition success while also expanding Texas Tech’s music programs and community outreach.
Stetson credits his success to the students, faculty, and staff who shape the School of Music.
