Alumna Noémie Raymond '16 GD made her highly anticipated Carnegie Hall debut on March 20, 2025, at Zankel Hall. The acclaimed Canadian cellist performed alongside pianist Zhenni Li-Cohen as part of their Dialogues project, presenting a deeply personal recital featuring works by Rachmaninoff, Clarke, and Thomas.

The program includes Rachmaninoff’s Cello Sonata in G Minor, a landmark piece written during the composer’s creative resurgence following a period of depression, as well as Rebecca Clarke’s emotionally profound work, composed three years after her move to the United States. The concert will also feature the New York premiere of a sonata by Christian Thomas, written and dedicated to Raymond and Li-Cohen.

Raymond has built a distinguished career as a soloist and chamber musician, performing on renowned stages such as London’s Royal Albert Hall and the Festival Internacional de Música de Cámara in Lima. She has collaborated with celebrated artists including Midori, Pinchas Zukerman, and Jan Lisiecki and has appeared as a soloist with prestigious orchestras such as the National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Orchestre de la Francophonie.

The 2024-2025 season marks not only her Carnegie Hall debut but also the release of her new album under the Leaf Music label. In addition to her performing career, Raymond is a dedicated educator, serving on the chamber music faculty at the Heifetz International Music Institute and the Festival del Lago in Mexico.

Congratulations on this remarkable accomplishment, Noémie!
