
Evren Ozel ’21, ’23 MM, ’25 AD Showcases New Recording with ORF Vienna Radio Symphony
Following his award-winning performance at the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, pianist Evren Ozel ’21, ’23 MM, ’25 AD has released a new album featuring two major Mozart works. Out now on the Alpha Classics label, the recording presents Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9 in E-flat major, K. 271 “Jenamy,” and Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major, K. 414, with conductor Howard Griffiths and the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The release comes on the heels of Ozel’s Third Prize and Best Mozart Concerto Performance awards at the prestigious Cliburn competition. His interpretation of Mozart’s music earned high praise for its refinement and vitality, qualities that are captured in this studio collaboration.
Ozel received his Bachelor's and Master's, as well as his Artist Diploma at NEC, where he studied with Wha Kyung Byun ’74 MM through the Institute for Concert Artists. He received an Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2023 and is an artist in residence at The Bowers Program of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. He is also represented by the Concert Artists Guild, which honored him with an Ambassador Prize at its 2021 Victor Elmaleh Competition.
With this release, Ozel continues to build on his reputation as a rising artist whose thoughtful musicianship and technical finesse are earning international attention.
