Liam McManus ’25 MM Joins the Austin Symphony Orchestra

Percussionist Liam McManus ’25 MM has been appointed to the Austin Symphony Orchestra, marking the next step in his already impressive career.

A native of Buffalo, New York, McManus has built a reputation as a versatile and dynamic performer. He has appeared with ensembles including the Erie Symphony, the Massachusetts Symphony, and the Chautauqua Philharmonic, bringing artistry and precision to a wide range of orchestral repertoire.

McManus is currently pursuing a degree at Rice University, continuing to refine his craft while balancing his professional work. He earned his Master of Music from the New England Conservatory in 2025, where he studied with leading faculty and honed his orchestral and chamber music skills. Before NEC, he attended the Eastman School of Music, laying the foundation for his career as a professional percussionist.

With the Austin Symphony Orchestra, McManus will join a vibrant musical community in Texas, performing a variety of symphonic and collaborative programs. His appointment reflects both his dedication to his art and the depth of his training across some of the nation’s most esteemed conservatories.
