Composition by Lauren Bernofsky '92 MM performed in the 2024 NEC Commencement Concert

The 2024 NEC Commencement Concert took place on Saturday, May 18, in Jordan Hall. The performance kicked off with Trio for Brass, composed by alumna Lauren Bernofsky '92 MM. The piece was performed by NEC Graduates Willow Otten '24 MM on horn, Cody York '24 on trumpet, and Noah Korenfeld '24 MM on trombone.

Lauren is an accomplished composer of solo, chamber and choral music, and her music has been performed across the globe, including countries such as the United States, Australia, Greece, Iceland, Kenya, Ecuador, and South Africa. Lauren has won numerous awards such as the National Flute Association's Newly Published Music Competition and the Contempo Festival OPERA PUPPETS Mainstage Award, along with grants from the American Music Center, American Composers Forum, and National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts.
