Obadiah Baker '06 Takes Home a Win at the 55th Great Lakes Emmy® Awards

NEC alumnus Obadiah Baker '06 won an Emmy® Award for Musical Composition/Arrangement at the 55th Great Lakes Emmy® Awards in Cleveland, OH. His PBS documentary film, “The Shadow Between Us,” which received four Emmy® nominations, also took home an award for Best Photography.

Since his time at NEC, Obadiah founded Tender Heart Crusades, a nonprofit organization that directs its attention toward community involvement. Since 2009, Obadiah, with help from many volunteers, continues to make great strides in concentrated poverty communities. The Tender Heart Crusades played a big role in the production of “The Shadow Between Us.” Obadiah is a musician, businessman, scholar, and served as a Civil Affairs Officer and Major in the U.S. Army Reserves. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from NEC in 2006.
