Alumna Holly Choe '17 MM selected for Dudamel Fellowship
Congratulations to alumna Holly Choe '17 MM on being selected for the Gustavo Dudamel Fellowship. Music and Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, together with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, created this program in 2009 to "provide a unique opportunity for promising young conductors from around the world to develop their craft and enrich their musical experience through personal mentorship and participation in the LA Phil’s orchestral, education, and community programs." Holly was one of four conductors selected to take part in this fellowship for the 2024-2025 season.
Holly was born in South Korea and raised in Los Angeles. She has experience serving as Assistant Conductor of the Tonhalle Orchestra and Principal Conductor of Reflektor, a chamber orchestra. Holly has also appeared with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Beethovenorchester Bonn, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, and Spokane Symphony Orchestra. She has received several grants and awards, including the German Music Council's Forum Conducting Grant, Solti Foundation Career Assistance Award, and Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship. Holly received her Master of Music degree in Wind Ensemble Conducting from NEC in 2017.
Congratulations, Holly!
