
Isaac Kramer '13 appointed to Director of Instrumental Music for the Governor’s Academy
Conductor and alumnus Isaac Kramer '13 has been appointed to Director of Instrumental Music for the Governor’s Academy. The Governor's Academy is a boarding and day school for students in grades 9 through 12, located in Byfield, Massachusetts.
In 2012, Isaac was a Semi-Finalist for the American Prize in Conducting which gained him further recognition. During that year, he was also a member of the Castleton Festival Orchestra and was invited to join them on their international tour to Oman. Isaac went on to serve as Assistant Conductor for the Metropolitan Opera at the Siena Music Festival in Italy. In 2016, Isaac co-founded the New York Conductors Symphony, in partnership with renowned violinist Eric Silberger. The purpose of this ensemble is to cultivate the next generation of conductors by providing them opportunities to develop their talents.
Isaac received his Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance from NEC in 2013, where he studied with Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops trombonist, Norman Bolter. During that time, he also studied with BSO Associate Conductor, Marcelo Lehninger, and had mentorship from Bill Drury and Stephen Lord.
