Nikki Naghavi ’23 Performs with Kygo at TD Garden

Nikki Naghavi ’23 performed on viola with renowned DJ and producer Kygo during his headlining set at TD Garden on September 17. The unique performance fused Kygo’s electronic music with live classical elements, offering the audience a dynamic blend of genres. Nikki’s contribution added depth and warmth to the electronic atmosphere, highlighting her versatility as a performer in both classical and contemporary music worlds.

In addition to her career as a violinist, Nikki has performed with the Boston Philharmonic, the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, and side-by-side with the Boston and Dallas Symphonies. She also frequently performs at Candlelight Concerts throughout Boston with the Beacon Street Quartet. Nikki is on faculty at the Trala School of Music, teaching a full studio of students from all around the world ranging from age 5 to 85 years old. Alongside teaching and performing, she is a co-founder of Through the Staff, a nonprofit providing free music education to children affected by the pandemic​.

Nikki received her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from NEC in 2023, studying under Ayano Ninomiya. She is also currently serving as Program Manager of the Strings, Piano, Chamber Music, and Early Childhood departments at NEC’s Preparatory School.​
