Gyasi Barber ’13 MM

Gyasi is the Senior Lead of Global Product Solutions at Indeed.com and a freelance Financial Coach. After studying music at conservatories for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees, he pivoted to a career in sales, where he has spent the last ten years. Prior to working at Indeed, he worked at a Boston-based environmental services company called Next Step Living. Gyasi is also a member of NEC's President's Council.

The Center for Cultural Equity and Belonging (CEB) fosters a campus community of connection, belonging, and authenticity, where everyone's socio-cultural identities are affirmed and celebrated. This year's theme is Talking Tapestries: The Courage to Engage in Difficult Dialogue. At NEC, October is Dialogue Month, where CEB will facilitate programming that focuses on sharing and practicing strategies to have meaningful dialogue.

Here are some upcoming CEB events that alumni are welcome to join:
  • Navigating Dialogue in the Classroom Workshop by Dr. Sarah Ropp (UPenn)
    • Tuesday, October 22, 10:30 - 12pm, in Burnes Hall
  • Ubuntu Dialogue Dinner
    • Thursday, November 7, 6:30 - 8:30pm, in Burnes Hall
  • Let’s Talk! Lunch & Learns 
    • Fridays, 12 - 1pm, in SB 203 (Center for CEB)
    • Topics include:
      • Compassion for Self: Preparing for Difficult Dialogue (Oct. 11)
      • Navigating Dialogue with Differing Ideologies and Beliefs (Oct. 18)
      • Braving Dialogue in “Hot Moments” (Oct. 25)
      • Let’s Talk about Race (11/1)
  • NEC Dialogue Cafes
    • Wednesdays, 12 - 1pm, in SB 203 (Center for CEB)
      *Oct 9 - Nov 6
