Balourdet Quartet Joins Colbert Artists Management

The Balourdet Quartet, alumni of NEC’s Professional String Quartet Program (2020-2023), has signed with Colbert Artists Management, joining a roster of celebrated musicians.

The ensemble consists of violinists Angela Bae ’22 MM, ’23 GRC, and Justin DeFilippis ’17, ’22 GD, ’23 GRC, violist Benjamin Zannoni ’22 GD, ’23 GRC, and cellist Russell Houston ’22 GD, ’23 GRC. Guided by cellist Paul Katz during their NEC residency, the quartet honed their artistic voice.

Formed in 2018 at Rice University, the quartet has earned praise for their vibrant energy and artistry, winning the 2024 Avery Fisher Career Grant and Cleveland Quartet Award. Recent highlights include debuts at Carnegie and Wigmore Halls and engagements at the Kennedy Center and Stanford University.
