Holly Hyun Choe ’17 MM Named 2025 Solti Fellow by The Solti Foundation U.S.
The Solti Foundation U.S. has named conductor Holly Hyun Choe ’17 MM the 2025 recipient of the Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award, also known as the Solti Fellow. The $30,000 award is the Foundation’s top honor, given annually to a promising American conductor under the age of 36.
Choe, a 2017 graduate of NEC, was praised for her artistic excellence, leadership, and international reach. She is the newly appointed Principal Conductor and Musical Advisor of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (beginning in 2026), Principal Conductor of Ensemble Reflektor, and Associate Artist with the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève. She is currently a Dudamel Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
“This award is life-changing,” said Choe. “I’m honored to follow in the footsteps of Sir Georg Solti and continue striving toward artistic excellence and equity through music.”
Now in its 25th year, the Solti Foundation U.S. supports young American conductors through financial grants, professional mentoring, and career development. Choe previously received the Foundation’s Career Assistance Award in 2020 and becomes the third woman to receive the Solti Fellowship.
Congratulations to Holly Hyun Choe for this outstanding achievement!
