
Christopher Jenkins ’03 MM receives 2024 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Service in the Arts Award
Congratulations to alumnus Christopher Jenkins ’03 MM on receiving a 2024 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Service in the Arts Award. The Cleveland Orchestra presented this award to three recipients as a part of it’s 44th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Concert at Severance Music Center. This award recognizes those whose work has a positive impact on music and the arts within the community, reflecting the teachings of Dr. King.
Christopher holds the positions of Associate Dean for Academic Support, the Conservatory Liaison to the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and a Visiting Assistant Professor of Musicology at Oberlin Conservatory. He oversees musical community engagement at The Music Settlement and also presents free concerts at churches across the Greater Cleveland area.
Christopher has received degrees from Harvard, NEC, Manhattan School of Music, and Columbia University. Currently, he is completing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Cleveland Institute of Music along with a PhD in Musicology from Case Western.
