Lila Palmer '11 MM appointed General and Artistic Director of the New Orleans Opera

Congratulations to NEC alumna Lila Palmer '11 MM on her appointment as the next General and Artistic Director of the New Orleans Opera. Lila will begin this endeavor in May of 2024.

Lila joined the New Orleans Opera from New York’s American Lyric Theater where she has served as Interim Managing Director and Associate Director for Promotions and Partnerships. She has also led arts programming at The Museum of London, The London Transport Museum, Trebah Gardens, and the Bethlem Gallery and Trust. As a librettist, Lila has been recognized with an Edinburgh Fringe Lustrum Award and Album of the Year by The Times of London. She received her Undergraduate diploma from Cambridge University in History, and went on to receive her Master's of Music in Vocal Performance at NEC.
